Here is an inked version of Naomi carrying her huge backpack of magpies. In the original story she has them in her arms, and as much as I wanted to keep it true the original there was just no way I could figure to draw enough magpies in her hands and arms to create the kind of feel I’d hoped to achieve without adding the backpack in.
